Journeys For Women

Portland, Oregon July 17-21, 2007
We had a blast in Portland despite a little bit of rain! We were well situated in a boutique hotel in the NW quarter,
right on the streetcar line. Our first full day featured a walking tour followed by a trip to the Portland Art Museum.
There we enjoyed lunch followed by an audio-tour of the Rembrandt exhibit. That night we had front row seats at a local
club where we listened to a very talented jazz quartet.
The next morning we visited the Rose and Japanese gardens; we were so impressed we headed for the Chinese garden
after lunch! After a little shopping and a light dinner, several of us stayed up and just chatted until the wee
hours.
The following day we took a private van trip to the Columbia River Gorge and Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood.
We had lunch in Hood River at a lovely restaurant overlooking the river. Our driver was very accommodating
and stopped at various vista points and a gift shop along the way. We capped off the trip that night at our Grand
Finale dinner at Paley's Place right next door to our hotel.
