| The Chinatown Ladies at Dim Sum |
This private tour of Chinatown with dim sum lunch on Saturday February
21, 10am -1pm was a blast and very popular! There were 32 of us, so we split into two touring groups. We all got
together for a terrific Dim Sum Lunch. A great day.
We
began with a 2-hour walking tour led by a bilingual guide fluent in Cantonese. We learned the history of the Chinese
immigrants who arrived during the Gold Rush and viewed the unique architecture. We visited several businesses
and landmarks which included an herbalist, tea purveyor, temple, art gallery and produce markets. Our guides showed
the best places to shop for jewelry, linens and various other items. Our Grand Finale was a dim sum lunch
at one of the oldest restaurants in Chinatown.
