The name SmalMart was created from the first four letters
of my last name, and the first four letters of my wife's last name, Martelli. We are a home based business located
in the San Francisco East Bay community of Pleasanton.
I am a member of the The Rotary Club of Pleasanton, we hold our Spirit Run every Father's Day in beautiful downtown Pleasanton CA. A fun filled family event featuring a 5 & 10K run, and
a Kiddies run to Mr. Cookie.
In 2005 I was the Assistant Freshman Baseball Coach at Foothill High School. This was a fun, frustrating and rewarding task. First time in about 40
years I've stepped foot on a baseball diamond, pretty challenging.
I worked for 31 years for the Social Security Administration, having held Management, Staff
and Technical positions in Field Offices, Central Office, Washington DC and the San Francisco Regional Office.
I retired in April 1993 and spent two years riding my bicycle, back packing, traveling, gardening, getting to know the grandkids
and generally enjoying life.
My first venture into e-commerce was with High Tech Marketing in
1995. Through this company we marketed high speed graphic cards for the Macintosh platform, high-end monitors, custom personal
computer systems, as well as computer hardware and some software. We also marketed long distance service and other telecommunications
products. Quite an eclectic enterprise.
The graphic cards were dropped in late 1997 along with monitors.
At the start of Y2K we dropped custom computer systems, laptops, computer hardware and software, leaving time to
focus on the ever changing long distance and telecommunications industry through our Cognigen Agency.
SmalMart Dot Com was created in mid 2004 after some years of thinking
about a comprehensive online shopping site. We're working hard trying to make SmalMart Dot Com a great place to do
your online shopping. Please give us some feedback on ways to make this site better serve you and fulfill your shopping
needs.
