First a word or two about soy candles. A couple of graduate students at
Purdue University developed the soy wax processs about 12 years ago. Soy candles burn cleaner, cooler and longer than
traditional candles made from parraffin. In the early days the manufacture of soy candles was mostly a cottage industry.
Candles were produced by hand in a vacant barn, garage or in the cellar. That's no longer true. Now manufacturers
use modern automated equipment and a variety of blends using wax made from soy beans and other vegatables. They are
very nice candles.
Of the three candle makers shown above, I've been associated with Gelluminations the longest. They make a very nice soy candle. Their soy candles and soy candle kits are very competitively priced.
They are very realiable.
Illuminations is a relatively new player, they are located here in Northern California, in Petaluma. They produce excellent candles
using a variety of vegatable waxes. They also have aroma therarpy candles that are very nice. Illuminations is
a bit more up-scale from Gelluminations.
The folks at Discount Candles produce high quality parraffin candles. They also have a small line of vegatable wax candles. They also produce
very nice candles at reasonable prices. They carry a wide range of candles, inclucing Church Candles, Restaurant candles,
